HOLY BIBLE: We believe the Holy Bible to be the inspired and only infallible authoritative Word of God GOD: We believe that there is only one God CREATION: We believe in the scriptural account of creation, that God, Himself, created the heavens and the earth. SALVATION: We believe in the salvation of sinners by grace, through repentance and faith in Christ and His precious blood by which we obtain remission of sins, not by works, but by His mercy and the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit. REDEMPTION: We believe that Christ gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works, and that the redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides healing of the human body in answer to believing prayer. WATER BAPTISM: We believe in water baptism by immersion (buried) as an act of obedience by every believer. This is an ordinance of the church and constitutes being baptized into the Lord Jesus Christ. THE PERSON AND WORK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT: a. We believe that the Holy Spirit is a person who convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment. b. We believe that He is the Divine Teacher who assists believers to understand and appropriate the Scriptures. c. We believe that it is the privilege and duty of all believers to be initially and continually filled with and controlled by the Holy Spirit. This experience should also be accompanied by the evidence of speaking in other tongues as recorded in Scripture SANCTIFICATION: We believe in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a Spirit-filled life, perfecting holiness in the fear of God, as determined by the standard of God's Word and not by the standards of the world. We believe that all the saved should live in such a manner as not to bring reproach upon their Savior and Lord; and, that separation from all religious apostasy, worldly and sinful pleasures, practices and associations is commanded of God. RESURRECTION: We believe in the resurrection of both the believers and the unbelievers: The believers to everlasting life and the unbelievers to everlasting punishment. We believe that the souls of the redeemed are, at death, absent from the body and present with the Lord, where in conscious bliss they await the first resurrection, when spirit, soul, and body are reunited to be glorified forever with the Lord. SATAN: We believe that Satan is a person, the author of sin which is the cause of the Fall of Man; that he is the open and declared enemy of God and man; and, that his main objective is to steal, kill and destroy. BODY OF CHRIST: We believe that there is one body of Christ, the Church, which is composed of many members in particular, all having been baptized into the one body by one Spirit. These members are set in the body as it pleases God, and every member has his/her own particular function with Christ as the head. UNITY: We believe that it is absolutely essential to promote the Unity of the Spirit within our local church and among the other members of the body of Christ. EQUIPPING MINISTRIES: We believe that God gives to the Church today apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, until we all come to the unity of the faith and the knowledge of the Son of God. MANIFESTATIONS OF THE SPIRIT: We believe in the operation of all the manifestations of the Spirit in the local church. These manifestations are listed as gifts, administrations, operations, and ministries, and the Holy Spirit divides to every man as He wills. All do not have the same gifts or office. CHRIST-LIKE CHARACTER: We believe that the development of Christ-like character in each Christian's life is a fundamental principle of the Kingdom of God and that it is the biblical foundation for all gifts, ministries and activities of the church . MORAL STANDARD: We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity should be engaged in outside of marriage between a man and a woman. Anything outside of this is a sinful perversions of God's original idea of what sex was intended for ABORTION: We believe that human life begins at conception and that the unborn child is a living human being. Abortion constitutes the unjustified, unexcused taking of unborn human life. Abortion is murder. We reject any teaching that abortions of pregnancies due to rape, incest, birth defects, gender selection, birth or population control, or the mental well-being of the mother are acceptable. GOD'S ORDER OF GOVERNMENT: We believe that the local church is to be governed by elders, called and ordained of God, who serve with the presiding elder or senior minister to oversee the flock and its activities. Deacons are appointed to assist the elders in that ministry in both spiritual and practical matters as may be deemed necessary WORSHIP: We believe the essence of worship is basically a voluntary response to God whereby we lovingly acknowledge His supreme worth as the one and only eternal God. It is an attitude of being totally surrendered and submitted to God and consumed by Him and His purposes. Worship is primarily a "state of the heart" and, secondarily, a "state of the art" in which various forms of Biblical musical expressions are involved in a corporate gathering. Our participation, in faith, in the flow of the worship service prepares our hearts to be more sensitive and responsive to God's presence in our lives. COMMUNION: We believe in the frequent partaking of Communion by all believers as a command of Jesus Christ and the Apostle Paul, that in partaking we do show (proclaim) the Lord's death (work and benefits of Calvary) till He comes, and that it is practiced in remembrance, not of our sins, but in remembrance of Jesus, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world by His own personal body sacrifice and shed blood. LAYING ON OF HANDS: We believe in the laying on of hands for blessing, for healing, for receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit, for prophecy by the presbytery, for special commission or ordination.
